Most apps have an option to do something specific when a task finishes. For example, a file downloading app can be set to shut down your PC when a long download has completed. But what if an app doesn't offer this, or maybe you just want to be alerted with a whistle when a window closes? AlomWare Toolbox to the rescue!
With AlomWare Toolbox, just middle-click the icon area of a window's title bar and select the "When closed" menu item. A sub-menu opens where you can select what you want to happen when the window closes. The available options are:
- Do nothing (to cancel a previous selection)
- Add a log entry (to AlomWare Toolbox's "Log" tab)
- Play a whistle sound (great for when you're in another room!)
- Run a DOS command
- Run an automated action (from AlomWare Toolbox's "Automation" tab)
- Show a pop-up message
- Show a notification (in the system tray)
- Speak a message (using the PC's default voice)
- Shut down the PC
- Sleep the PC
In the screenshot below, AlomWare Toolbox will shut down the PC when a long file copy has finished.
