Feature Requests / Re: Alt+LMB drag feature
July 20, 2026, 10:41:32 PM
Understood. The reason I asked, though, is that holding down Alt and dragging the mouse on a web page is good way to select text that can't normally be copied, so I was hoping I could use a different key to Alt.

Feature Requests / Alt+LMB drag feature
July 19, 2026, 03:59:19 PM
I really like the Alt+LMB drag feature to move windows by clicking them anywhere, but what about making it work for keys other than Alt? Like as a hotkey for an action?

Quote from: oblivion on May 01, 2026, 09:20:45 PMI only found out tilde was a newline by accident in the help for a different command
Can this be changed, actually? The tilde character isn't exactly unique and can be used in normal text a lot. I think it should be changed to something less common. It doesn't really look like a newline character either.

I discovered today that the Speech Recognition in Control Panel menu doesn't work when selected. It used to before. It also has a question mark for its icon.

This is how you know a software developer cares: only 5 hours from bug report to bug fix, and new version direct to the bug reporter as a special private build! 8)

Paul, I assume this means we'll all get the updated version soon?

I totally overlooked the Action Wizard option to save all window states. Thanks for the heads-up, Paul.

Don't worry about him, Paul. I for one love the constant updates and dedication.

Very cool! I now use this tip as a kind of "boss key" so I can swipe to an empty desktop when I want to hide my windows. ;D
#9
Great tip! This would also be useful for sharing files as text in Reddit posts and things like that. Interesting concept.

Quote from: Paul (Lead Developer) on February 20, 2026, 10:47:07 PMYou can actually filter any list by using the format /# for the filter, where # is the number of items to show
What the heck... you really do think of everything.

I had no idea you could filter screenshots from an action. Will be using this a LOT.

Help and Support / Re: States. Why?

I use States just to position my app windows, rather than launch and position them. I just right-click the system tray icon of Toolbox and pick the state to restore. Each state has only "Restore layouts of listed items" checked, with the other options unchecked. Makes it quick and simple to move everything where I want them.

General Discussion / Re: Firewall function: wow!

I concur with Bazza. This is a killer function! I would've paid for an app that solely did this, but to be part of everything else that Toolbox offers is really cool.

Glad you like my tip, oblivion.

Quote from: oblivion on January 08, 2026, 02:11:44 AMAnd I was so stupidly confident in my own skills that I released the new version without testing it first.
Never a good idea. Thanks for the story!
