[Explained] Free version daily unlock code doesn't work

Hi,

The button hyperlink destination to get the "daily unlock code" has been modified to point to "javascript:void()".

Also, if I go to the web that was functional last week (https://www.alomware.com/toolbox-free-code.php), it appears "Page Error 404 Not Found".

Hence, I suspect it's not a bug, but that it's been deliberately changed.
If that's the case, why offer a free version if it's not real?

The link to the temporary free code was not generating any sales, so we had to go back to the old method where you type a daily code for free use:

You need to download v7.0.0.4 or later to get this old method back.

The old method is actually less effort needed than the online method, because typing a short code (as shown in the screenshot above) is much faster than going to our website every two days, clicking the free link, copying the free code, going back to the app, and pasting the free code in. Consider also when your PC might have an interrupted internet connection: you wouldn't be able to copy the free code during the downtime. So this old method of typing it in is both cloud-proof and future-proof since it generates sales to keep us in business. Much better.

As for your question of "why offer a free version if it's not real", well the online method wasn't a permanent unlock code either, so you still had to go back every two days to get a new code. The app was never free without a nag.

Yep, I have the previous version and the problem is that you can't check for a new version (like 7.0.0.4 now) unless you're logged into the software, and you cannot log in because you need the free code from the web. The snake that bites its own tail.

I've now manually downloaded the latest version and I can log in.
Thanks for the reply and your support.

I admit it's annoying, but it won't affect new users who start with v7.0.0.4 and later. I am happy to give you alone a complimentary six-month unlock code for the inconvenience. Contact me by email and I'll send it tomorrow morning (it's 11:20pm here). Thanks. 8)
