Possible suggestion -- word counts

My wife just asked me if there was an easy way for her to get a word count for a piece of coursework she's working on.

My first thought was one of the baby wp programs I keep lying around -- Atlantis just puts a current word count in the status bar, for instance.

Then I couldn't remember if the computer she's using has Atlantis on it. (It does, but that started a rabbit hole off...)

Would it be useful if Toolbox did something similar -- just added a word count to the status bar for the current clipboard entry? So you could do ^A^C then look at the clipboard to see?

Then I thought "maybe there's an action that would do this?" (If so, I couldn't find one.)

Then I thought "well, I could probably write an action..." and then I thought "maybe I should just paste the text into Atlantis and have done with it!"

But I wondered if this might be a useful thing to do, one way or another. So, Paul, what do you think? Would this be a useful thing to add? Or should I just stop being lazy and do some string slicing and write my own?

Already there, my good man. Just look at the status bar when a clipboard item is selected in the list.

Or, you can use this action with a hotkey, which shows a word count of the clipboard text as a message:
