AlomWare Toolbox does not sync its data from one PC to another; it just uses the folder location specified whenever the app starts, even if that folder is online. It is not intended or recommended that you run AlomWare Toolbox on more than one PC at a time.
Disclaimer: AlomWare Toolbox does NOT encrypt your data (aside from Notes or Actions that you've manually encrypted with the app's Password feature). If you choose to use the cloud to store AlomWare Toolbox's data online, then AlomWare (the developers and company itself) hereby disclaim any liability if your data is hacked or stolen. Please ensure that your cloud provider has good encryption and that only YOU have access to the cloud with a strong password. Remember: when you're using the cloud, you're just using someone else's computer. Do you trust them?
Here's how to set up "Google Drive" to be the online cloud location of the "Toolbox Data" folder. (If you wish to use a different online cloud provider, such as "DropBox", then you'll need to seek support directly from them).
First, download and install the "Google Drive" desktop app on every PC that you wish AlomWare Toolbox to use its "Toolbox Data" folder with. Once installed, you'll see "Google Drive" on your PC (Figure 1).
Figure 1 |
If you open this new "Google Drive", you'll see a sub-folder named "My Drive" inside it (Figure 2). This is the online target folder where you'll set AlomWare Toolbox's "Toolbox Data" folder to be located.
Figure 2 |
To set the "Toolbox Data" folder to be located there, open AlomWare Toolbox's Settings (Figure 3).
Figure 3 |
Next, double-click "General app settings > Set the 'Toolbox Data' folder location" item (step 1 in Figure 4). You'll get a prompt about changing it, so click "OK" to continue (step 2 in Figure 4). Don't worry: your existing data folder won't be deleted or lost!
Figure 4 |
At the "Browse For Folder" prompt, drop down "Google Drive" from the list (step 1 in Figure 5), select "My Drive" from under it (step 2 in Figure 5), and then click "OK" (step 3 in Figure 5).
Figure 5 |
You'll now get the following confirmation prompt (Figure 6) and AlomWare Toolbox will reload its data from the "Google Drive" location (Figure 7). Done!
