If an action that auto-types to a window isn't working and the window in question is active, then try the following in the order listed:
- For the new Notepad on Windows 11, you will need to disable "Autocorrect" (and maybe "Spell check") in its settings, as these can interfere with the typing.
- You may need to use the Window: Assign and wait to activate step first to ensure the correct window is active and has the focus before the typing starts.
- You can try editing your action to paste the keystrokes as text to the window instead of typing it, by using the Keyboard: Paste this text step.
- AlomWare Toolbox wasn't run with administrator rights, so try restarting the app as administrator and see if that works.
- If none of the above apply, then please see the below for further possibilities.
Actions that are triggered with [Alt] as part of a hotkey trigger might open a window's menu bar briefly, which is normal but unfortunately can interfere with the typing. If this applies to you, you will need to specify {esc} at the start of the typed text to forcibly close the menu before typing the rest (Figure 1).

If the auto-typing is triggered by typing a shortcut phrase, make sure that "Privacy and your data > Enable key monitoring" is enabled in Settings (Figure 2).
